This paper brings basic mapping of Information Services Market in the Czech Republic. First, the basic legal framework of Czech information services will be outlined, following the market split out on the basic segments (Public sector services, Private sector services – both in deeper detail). The paper will continue with a survey of essential information
sources including their availability for commercial use, especially regarding possibility of information technologies usage. Next, the current offer of value-added services from different (selected) organizations acting on the Czech market will be presented. Interest and professional associations operating in the field of Information services will be mentioned.
In the further part of the paper, basic barriers hindering a better exploitation of information for the benefit of business development will be summed up (as members of Czech PSI Watch Initiative identified them).
